What are they?
Mobile stables are exactly what they sound like – stables that can be moved. There are many reasons why you’d want to move your stable, most commonly because you need a stable in different locations at different times, or because you don’t have planning permission for a static building.
How do they work?
We have three standard ways of achieving mobility for our stables, as follows:
- Timber skids – suitable for moving stables a short distance on an occasional basis.
- Metal skids – suitable for moving stables on a regular basis.
- Wheeled trailer units – capable of moving stables very long distances.
What can be moved?
We are able to offer all of these mobility options on any of our buildings. Single stables, double stables, stable with tack room, stables with hay store etc. If a mobile stable is what you require, then anything is possible, as long as you have the space and power to move it. It’s not just horse stables that we can make, we’ve also made smaller buildings for smaller farm animals (e.g. goats, sheep) and larger buildings for zoo animals.
Are they safe to move?
All our stables are made from high quality wood, and a heavy duty framework, so can more easily withstand being moved, than your average timber building. We use a full thickness overlapping timber cladding, which forms a stronger structure than feather-edged or shiplap cladding, and has less chance of coming loose during movement. Please note; timber skid units are only designed for moving over short distances.
